The Cadillac CT4 has always been a great-looking car that puts a big emphasis on a sensational driving experience. Still, Cadillac has now decided to push the CT4 down an even more performance-focused route for the 2022 model year. The 2022 Cadillac CT4 is now available in some superlatively aggressive, high-performance guises. However, it is still an incredibly luxurious car that’s you’ll be delighted to be seen driving around Thornhill, North York, Markham, Richmond Hill, and anywhere in the Greater Toronto Area.
When it comes to deciding which version of the 2022 Cadillac CT4 you want there are two questions you have to ask yourself, which are, do you want an aggressively styled, high-performance model or an even more aggressively styled and even more high-performance model? That’s because the ‘regular’ CT4 models have now been joined by a new Blackwing model that really is something special.
The range starts with the CT4 Luxury and then goes to the Premium Luxury, Sport, and V-Series, and then there’s the CT4 Blackwing that the Cadillac website puts as a separate model to the regular CT4 lineup. Every version of the CT4 looks sensational in that inimitable Cadillac manner. Still, the Blackwing pushes that to another level with additional performance styling cues that make it look as fast as it actually is. All models are standard rear-drive with all-wheel-drive available, apart from the Blackwing, which is exclusively rear-wheel-drive.
A 2.0-litre turbo-four and its 237 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque is the standard engine in most cases, but there’s also a 2.7-litre Dual Volute turbo-four available that puts out up to 325 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft. of torque. This is the engine under the hood of the CT4 V-Series in both standard rear-drive and optional all-wheel-drive versions, and all non-Blackwing models come with a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission.
And then we come to the 2022 Cadillac CT4 V-Series Blackwing, which then brings some 472 horsepower and 445 lb.-ft. of torque to the party, which will propel the Caddy from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and comes mated to a standard six-speed manual or available 10-speed automatic transmission.
Two things tell you what to expect from the standard features and equipment of the 2022 CT4, which are these are unapologetic luxury sedans, and they are Cadillacs. If you’re looking for a stripped-down, no-nonsense track day car that doesn’t bother with anything the car could do without in order to save weight, then you’re looking in the wrong place.
The Luxury trim looks and feels anything but “entry-level” and things just get better and better as you go up through the range. V-Series models come with 18-inch alloy wheels, auto on/off headlamps with Tunnel Detection, the Cold Weather Package, Driver-Assist Package, Driver Awareness Plus Package, IntelliBeam auto high beam headlamps, auto windshield wipers, LED lights, adaptive cruise control, paddle shifters, ambient interior lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control, HD Rear Vision Camera, Inteluxe seats, and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The V-Series can even be upgraded to include GM’s new Super Cruise feature and plenty more besides.
The 2022 Cadillac CT4 is a sensational-looking car and it looks even better in real life than it does on paper; and what it looks like on paper is already pretty impressive, to say the least. Don’t just take our word for it, though, come and see for yourself with a test drive from Roy Foss Cadillac here at 7200 Yonge Street, Thornhill, ON, or give us a call at (905) 709-7640 for more information and to book a test drive appointment for a suitable time.
