A stunning performer
The main focus of the 2024 Cadillac CELESTIQ isn’t necessarily its staggering performance, but it’s an essential aspect of this fantastic new car that is more than worthy of discussion. The CELESTIQ has a two-motor battery-electric powertrain sending 600 horsepower and 640 lb.-ft. of torque to all four wheels. Cadillac says the powertrain will propel the car from 0 to 100 kp/h in less than four seconds, but comfort and ride quality remain the car’s priorities.
The driving range on a full charge of the CELESTIQ’s 111-kWh battery pack is an estimated 483 km, and any noise that may escape the meticulous sound-proofing gets counteracted by noise cancellation generated through the 1000-Watt 38-speaker audio system. When a DC rapid charging facility is available, an extra 125 km of range can be added in 10 minutes as a quick “top-off.”

We already expect to find the latest technology and luxury features in Cadillac’s most upscale models, but the 2024 Cadillac CELESTIQ is from another planet in that regard. To begin with, the instrument panel is one giant digital display that allows the driver to control the CELESTIQ’s technological powerhouse of a cabin effortlessly. Four bucket seats create individual bubbles of luxury space for each occupant to enjoy. Even the roof is an electrochromic glass panel you can adjust from transparent to opaque, providing every passenger control of their individual corner of the sky.
The cabin is awash with the finest leathers available in almost any colour imaginable, and many other exciting materials get employed throughout the interior as accents. While the dash is dominated by a combined 55 inches of digital display, rear-seat passengers are not left out as they get individual 12.6-inch displays for viewing movies, surfing the internet, or controlling the car’s stereo system. A raft of driver-assistance features is inevitably included onboard, from things as familiar as automated emergency braking to advanced hands-free driving via GM’s new Ultra Cruise system.
